Since 1984, Separation Technologies' current personnel have designed over 40 operational ion exchange plants for special processes. The approach used in designing special process plant is very different from that adopted in standard water treatment in order to minimise rinse and regenerant volumes and maximise the efficiency of the plant. Special emphasis is given to the choice of resins, process chemistry including resin cleaning procedures and the engineering design of the columns and their internals.
