Chemical and Petrochemical Applications

Ion exchange and adsorption technology are used extensively in chemical and petrochemical processes, from the treatment of environmentally hazardous waste to the recovery of valuable substances. Separation Technologies has designed plant for many of these applications. Our personnel have worked for major chemical and petrochemical companies around the world.

One example of an adsorbent application is the recovery of phenol from effluent streams.

We have considerable experience of working with process engineers and contractors to study and implement new or modified processes. This includes liasing with the client’s process development team and undertaking any hydraulic tests necessary in our own laboratory, production of necessary hardware and assisting with the commissioning of new plant.

We use our experience and a range of unique design tools to optimise column hydraulics, in order to design highly efficient plant with effective regeneration and low rinse volumes.
